NO!

Photo by Harits Mustya Pratama on Unsplash Unless you have been under a rock, you know about the #metoo and #timesup movements. I am Nigerian so somehow in my mind it's happening across a sea that requires expensive tickets and hard work to get papers for assess so it's kind of abstract, in a periphery, not for me. But I think it's relevant here too. Women here should be banding together to stop this confusion there seems to be about consent. We all know someone that has been in funny confusing situations like this. Maybe it’s even a personal experience. I know I have been; there are a few that stand out. One of those university holidays I came home and for lack of anything better to do I agreed to go out with a guy friend of mine.  I knew he was interested in dating but I had seriously friend zoned him. He took me out and at the end of the date (note a date to me) he wanted to make out in the car. I clearly remember saying no, but it seemed to me as i...

Don't Ask Me to Choose

I read somewhere that if you don't want a woman to decide give her a choice. I hate having to choose, you hear people shouting how they want a choice but when they get it, they become unhappy. Research even shows that we are a generation of sadder people because we have more choice. Why does choice make us so unhappy? It's because for every choice you make there is an opportunity cost, that is the alternative you had to let go of  so that you can make the choice you did, how do you know that the one you didn't pick is not the one that will complete you forever. Scenario 1: Ralph had to make a choice, Oge was a beautiful woman but she was stubborn, she wouldn't let him land before she jumped to conclusions but she was beautiful and she could cook, his mother also liked her very much but she was the kind of girl who would make a decision and inform him later, not because she wanted to undermine him but because that's just how she was and she could not pray for...

An Ode to Men

I love Men, yep you read right, however, lately the guys have been getting the short end of the stick. While sometimes this happens for balance, we sometimes punish them very unfairly. It's unfair because some men now are more for equality that even the women I mean if it means they can enjoy a free ride why the heck not? but that's not what this is about. This post is to remind us why we still love them. Just a short ride down memory lane: Some of my earliest memories as a child are of my eldest brother; how he used to go to the room and hide with me when the cartoon "animal crackers" came on. Nothing scared me like animal crackers and while he wasn't scared of animal crackers, he just knew I was afraid so he will take me to the room to hide while he watched the door to make sure that no monste...

Gold Digger

John and Evelyn fell in love at first sight. This was not really hard for Evelyn since John was dressed to the 9s. His watch was Cartier, his slipper  Gucci, he spoke like a Nigerian god all deep timbre and pedegree. He wasn't popping bottles no, he was too clasy for that, he ordered the best wine on the menu and their food cost an arm and a leg. This was the man of her dreams. he was also a solid 15 years older, but you wouldn't know. When Jon saw evelyn he figured he had seen an angel, beautiful and very sassy. She was smart held her own through the entire conversation, she was most improtantly the most beautiful human beign he had set his eyes on, Pettite and voluptous, she was a dream, to be honest, if she hadn't been so smart he won't have minded, she was eye candy enough to forgive all sin. He also noticed she liked expensive things, he didn't mind he had enough money to spend.  Philip was tired of Hard work. This was his 3rd interview and he figure...
