Nudity? Please...

I love the internet and social media. I love how we can share things and receive things without actually having to be in contact, I am one of those people who embraces new tech until of course I realise it's no longer working for me. Now one thing that I have had enough of is this exhibitionism that is now parading itself around as activism. What is your naked body standing up for please.  It's one thing or another, from Kim Kardarshan's constant need to be the topic of discussion, to Chelsea Handler and Miley Cyrus forcing us to see their nipples. People say things like if you don't  like it don't look , I used to be one of those people but how can I not look when these images are constantly on all my timelines going by headlines like; " so and so stands up to online haters   with these sexy nude shot " or " This and that celebrity stands up to body shamers with more naked pictures " or  "so and so supermodel stands up to instagram ...

Parenting: Are we Encouraging Mediocrity

I remember when I was in primary school, I was always either first or second in my class this was earlier on oh, before I discovered how much I hated mathematics. I recall how I came back every time with my first/ second result and after doing this for awhile my parents treated it like it was nothing special it became an expectation. After a while I too stared treating it like it was my right to be the best or second best in class. Then one term my younger brother who could not be bothered came second in his class, my parents were all over him like "oh he came first" and so on. Imagine my annoyance so I met my mother in the kitchen that day and said "mummy but I came second too" and she said "but of course you did dear, what other position did you want to get do you want me to throw a party?" (I will like you to know that my mother is very sarcastic in a loving way of course but sarcastic nonetheless and I love it.) lol. We were expected to be th...

Woman On Woman Crime

I was roaming around during the week playing with a couple of topics for my next blog posts and I had promised myself that if I don't feel passionate about the topic I won't write about it. Then  I got inspiration, for this one when I went into a shop to buy some shaving cream and I heard the two sales girls talking about the third one who was not around. With the constant ''Na so she dey" and the  ''Person no fit trust these Calabar girls'' whispers I kind of put 2 and 2 together (experience from a life time of talk talk and listening to what is not my business, what the experts call insight... LMAO). The summary of their story is that the third girl was new and the store manager was sweet on her when he used to basically ignore the other two girls who have worked there longer and three of them leave together they are friends. Why are women so hard on themselves, why are we more judgmental of other women than we are of men. Maybe it...

Witches and Wizards

Hello My People, It's been two weeks since my last post. Been really busy at work couldn't possibly carve out time, but I am here now. Hope you all had a wonderful time last week. Anyway, today we are talking about witches and wizards. This is a topic that is very dear to me. lol, not because I am either of these oh, but because they have become this boogie man lurking in the shadows of our misfortune in this country, so I am going to tear down the veil and ensure that the philosophies we pass to our children are sound. Not without faith but sound.   Okay let's explore a few scenarios:  Sister Angela was in university studying a 4 year course she was on her 3rd extra year and her faculty was sure she would not graduate this year. You see Sister Angela was a serious fellowship sister. all her seminar and lab time she spent fasting and praying in church. She missed most of her classes and attendance was like 10% of the final grade but when the exams were approachi...
