Parenting 101: Tough Love

                                              John has always had to work for what he gets. Even when he was 10 years old his father made him take jobs to augment his pocket money or buy a toy he wanted. Nothing was handed to him unless he has done absolutely well in school.  His parents were regular middle class and he grew up in a regular middle class neighbourhood  not missing anything. When he graduated from university, his father sent him off for his Msc. he came back and couldn't find a job. In 2016

Happy New Year everyone. I am so excited that we made it here and we are safe. That's good. This is my New year resolution post. I usually don't do new year resolutions because as far as I am concerned they are just designed to fail. I think the flaw is in the grandness of my plans eg. build the first Airplane in Nigeria, how can I do this when 1) I know nothing about engineering 2) I couldn't be bothered to learn. So that's always basically my problems with these resolutions but I am making an exception this year. Two reasons, first is I am staring down the barrel at 30 in a few years and I honestly don't want to enter into it in my current state of mind and the second reason is; I am just excited about this year. I don't necessarily get excited about new years but like a child, children don't really get the potential of a new note book.
