Wrangling Your Inner Feminist

Lately the word Feminist is everywhere. I mean since it got all caught up in pop culture. Ladies, its hard out there for a girl, this is the truth the world treats you like you are and enemy sometimes, both women and men. There is so much idealism that surround this school of thought, this belief that a woman has a right to be equal to a man in all day to day dealings but this idea rubs the some people the wrong way. The stereotypes that exist against feminism are very funny; some believe you need to be an unhappy woman, because I mean if you have a man in your life already telling you what to do you will stop complaining right? Who said a feminist can't be a wife or mother or straight. Basically feminism is the pursuit of the equality of the sexes in all spheres of life. Like one author said, it's basically the belief that women are people.  People attribute some odd things to feminist like masculinity and all that but just because a woman says she is a feminis...

Gold Digger

John and Evelyn fell in love at first sight. This was not really hard for Evelyn since John was dressed to the 9s. His watch was Cartier, his slipper  Gucci, he spoke like a Nigerian god all deep timbre and pedegree. He wasn't popping bottles no, he was too clasy for that, he ordered the best wine on the menu and their food cost an arm and a leg. This was the man of her dreams. he was also a solid 15 years older, but you wouldn't know. When Jon saw evelyn he figured he had seen an angel, beautiful and very sassy. She was smart held her own through the entire conversation, she was most improtantly the most beautiful human beign he had set his eyes on, Pettite and voluptous, she was a dream, to be honest, if she hadn't been so smart he won't have minded, she was eye candy enough to forgive all sin. He also noticed she liked expensive things, he didn't mind he had enough money to spend.  Philip was tired of Hard work. This was his 3rd interview and he figure...

To Spank or Not To Spank.

This is a late Mother's day post. Lately the  topic of spanking just pops up  everywhere. If you don't believe me just type spanking and child on google. Where ever there are parents people are airing their views on whether or not to spank their kids. Lately the trend is shifting away from spanking even though the bible says spare the rod and spoil the child. Some people argue that the bible didn't mean the rod literally  just a form of correction. Personally I believe in the rod. It  can take any form, the hand, the slippers, sometimes the spoon in your hand or even a pinch... lol. But I believe  in the rod. Most Nigerian mothers believe in spanking too. It's effective and straight to the point. Your disapproval is not left in contention. Some people believe though in negotiation. I don't see how rewarding a child for common sense is a good idea. In the long run won't it come back to bite your behind? Think about it "John if you stop sl...

The Story of the Padlock and the Key

Let me tell you a story... Once upon a time, in far far land, there lived a beautiful padlock, whose name was Padlucky. Padlucky had a lovely gleaming body with a nice sturdy handle that shone oh so bright. You see because Padlucky was so beautiful, all the keys loved her. There was no key that didn't try to open her and sometimes Padlucky let them. But everyone judged her. Even the keys Judged her, the ones that had opened and the ones that hoped to open her one day. The keys that she refused to let open her said mean things like "so you will let tiger brand key open you and you will be showing off for me? what makes you so special" In this Land, there also lived a key that could open every padlock. His name was MasterKey. His friends loved him and celebrated him because you see, there was no padlock that Master key could not open. MasterKey opened padlocks from the North to the South, from the east to the west of the Land. Even Padlocks sang his praise...

Coming of Age

I have come of age. It has been about 5 years since i wrote on this blog. So in five years i will like you to know i have come of age. Some of my friends are married some have kids, some are just fabulous and single  and we have all come of age. The Kardashians are a movement. Runs is taxable The classic distressed jeans have come back Denim is still king. Jonathan lost elections  and Nigerians are still queuing for petrol. Lol. But we have come of age. I remember when Nigeria had 24 hours light, water running from all the taps all the children were in school 1 naira was equal  to 1 dollar all the traffic lights worked and petrol was 40 naira a litre. Don't you remember this time?  well its true you won't because it never existed Our society takes 1 step forward 10 steps back.  There is free education but a mother has to pay about 11k in Naira to get her child books, uniform and other things  is education really free?. Graduates ...
